    In May 2017 it was decided to give the Bundeswehr Leopard 2 tank an upgrade in the form of the Leopard 2 A7V; building upon the A7 variant, the A7V has additional hull front armor to increase its survivability, with new running gear to compensate for the extra weight. Its L/55 120mm gun is a carryover from the A6. 104 existing tanks are to be upgraded to A7V spec, and units began receiving them in September 2021.


    About the Model

    This is a 1/48 scale plastic model assembly kit. Length: 234mm, width: 80mm. ★The model features realistic renderings of A7V features such as the front additional armor plate, plus updated turret rear and hull right-rear sections, all with ergonomic parts breakdowns. ★Non-slip sections on the turret and hull tops are recreated in style. ★Assembly type tracks use single-piece straight sections. ★The model comes with a commander torso figure and a two marking options.


    • In-depth study of full size vehicles helped create this model with A7V-specific sections adding to the already imposing Leopard 2 form.


    • The rear features depictions of the driver assist system sensor head and spare track link mounts. Tow cables are molded parts.


    • Our attention to detail goes all the way down to non-slip surface sections. Decals are used to recreate periscope opening and basket perforation details.


    • Engine grille detail is molded into the parts, and the axe, shovel and other accessories are separately molded components. Decals are used for warning stencils.


    • The 1/48 Leopard 2 A7V joins Tamiya model cousins in 1/16 and 1/35 scales. Why not make a collection?


    • A comprehensive decal sheet includes roundels, license plates and more for 2 different marking options.
